Antonio Conte gives update on injured Tottenham trio

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte has provided updates on Richterlison, Rodrigo Bentanker and Ben Davies after returning from World Cup duty after injury.

Richarlison played just over 80 minutes of Brazil’s quarter-final defeat by Croatia with a hamstring problem, while Bentenker and Davies picked up problems during the group stage exits to Uruguay and Wales respectively.

Spurs take on Nice in a mid-season friendly on Wednesday evening, and speaking to the club’s website, Conte discussed how the trio are progressing.

“Ben Davis is fine and started working with us last week. He’s on the mend,” he began.

“Rodrigo has started working. I think he will be good for the game against Aston Villa. For Richie, he will have an MRI tomorrow. [scan] Knowing well the significance of the injury. After tomorrow we will have a good look at what he needs to recover.”

Tottenham return to Premier League action with a trip to Brentford on Boxing Day, before welcoming Aston Villa to North London on New Year’s Day.
