Arsenal have officially launched their new adidas home shirt for the 2020/21 season, which pays homage to the Gunners’ ‘Art Deco’ era in the 1930s and 1940s.
Arsenal won five league titles in the 1930s alone and the new design is a nod to the particularly geometric club crest used from 1936 to 1949.

The chevron graphic that features on the main body of the shirt is inspired by the ‘A’ on the inside, while it is also a nod to the tiling layout on the floor of the East Stand’s famous marble hall, Highbury, Arsenal’s famous home. 2006 when the Emirates Stadium was opened.

As part of the kit launch, Arsenal have also announced new squad numbers for next season, including the one who will wear the number seven shirt.
Homegrown star Bukayo Saka will take seven next season, after wearing 77 in his breakout year. French defender William Saliba will wear the number four following his loan spell at former club Saint-Etienne. That shirt has been vacated by Mohamed Eleni, who will be 25 instead.
Saka, however, would continue to wear 77 for the remaining two games of the season.
