Barcelona have ‘no record’ of Man United’s €150m offer for Ansu Fati

Barcelona have ‘no record’ of Manchester United making an offer of up to €150m for teenage sensation Ansu Fati, and the player has not indicated there is any such offer on the table.

Fatty burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old earlier this season after injury opened up a first-team opportunity and has made 25 appearances in all competitions so far.

A report in The Times late last week alleged that Manchester United had made two offers to Barcelona for the youngster. The first was a transfer fee of €100m and the second included an additional €50m on top of that for a total package of €150m.

The report claimed Barcelona rejected both sums and reportedly referred the player’s €170m release clause to an arbitrator acting on behalf of United.

A report from Mundo Deportivo (MD) agrees that Barcelona do not want to sell Fati for less than his release clause, but the Barcelona publication disagrees that the club have actually been offered by United. has been received and there is no ‘record’ of this approach. .

In any case, MD notes that Fati is not interested in leaving either. The paper says it has been informed by a source within his camp that no offer from United has reached him, not even to gauge interest.

The player is said to be ‘calm’ about his situation at the Camp Nou as he is expected to soon sign a first professional contract with the club which will include a new €400m release clause. .

Barca also seem happy with Fati’s progress. He is the club’s fifth top scorer this season, including a goal in the club’s last La Liga match against Leganes this week.

“We are very happy with Anso. He is doing an impressive job. You have to be patient and carry on like before,” is the quote attributed to the club to sum up their stance.
