Barcelona have released a stunning black and gold away kit for the 2020/21 season.

For all their failures on the pitch this season, at least Barcelona are getting things right off it (outside the boardroom anyway). The club have just confirmed their new away kit for next season, and it’s sure to be a hit.

2019/20 passed with little cause for rejoicing, as their modest defense of the La Liga title saw rivals Real Madrid surrender the trophy at the end of the campaign.

There is still a potential chance to win the Champions League, but before European football returns, the club’s supporters can enjoy a welcome distraction with the club announcing the release of their new 2020/21 away kit. There will be a chance.

It is the club’s first black away strip since the 2011/12 season, featuring a beautiful combination of gold logos and trims. Nike have once again produced the Barça kits for the upcoming campaign, having been with the Spanish football giants since 1998.

“Black and gold go really well together and the cut looks really sharp,” Gerard Peck said of the new outfit on Nike’s official website. “We’ve had a few years of black, so it’s a nice change to bring it back.”

Nike Football Apparel Vice President Scott Munson added: “The energy on the ground in Barcelona is hard to beat, as is the passion for the football club. I think these colors create a clean look. does a really good job of having crossover appeal and making it popular on the streets that inspired it.”

His last season donning the black kit proved quite fruitful for La Blaugrana, who won four trophies – although they finished runners-up in La Liga and were beaten semi-finalists in the Champions League.
