Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has returned to England’s squad for October’s internationals against Wales, Belgium and Denmark at Wembley after being charged by a Greek court with assault, resisting arrest and attempted bribery. He was disqualified from the previous election.
Arsenal youngster Bokaio Saka, Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lyon and Leicester’s Harvey Barnes have been called up to the senior Three Lions squad for the first time, while Jake Gresh, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Calvin Phillips have each made their debuts since last month. Place is maintained.

Maguire denies the charges brought against him in Greece and is awaiting an appeal hearing. But after an initial decision was made to look fit to drop him within hours of his inclusion in the final squad, manager Gareth Southgate has now opted to recall him.
However, there is no place in the latest squad for Mason Greenwood or Phil Foden, who each made their senior international debuts against Iceland last month, before breaching Covid-19 protocol. He was then sent home in disgrace before the follow-up game against Denmark.
