Jose Mourinho has said that playing for Tottenham makes Harry Kane ‘special’, suggesting he would no longer have the influence he had if he left the club he made his name on.
Kane is fast approaching 200 goals for the club he has served from youth level, but his Spurs trophy cabinet – turning 27 this year – is yet to receive a major honour. .
Mourinho, though, feels Kane risks becoming just another player if he leaves the club that holds him as a legend.

“Hopefully next season he will start even better.”
Mourinho watched from the sidelines on Sunday as Kane took his tally for the season to 23 – a particularly impressive feat when you consider he missed nearly four months of the campaign through injury. Having worked with Didier Drogba at Chelsea, the brilliant duo of Diego Milito and Samuel Eto’o at Inter, Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Manchester United, Mourinho added that Kane stands out in this company too.
“It’s hard for me to compare strikers, but I’ve had something excellent at almost every club, and of course he’s second to none.
“He’s completely different, different qualities. But as a striker, as a goalscorer, as a team player, as a leader, I think he’s fantastic.
