Jurgen Klopp has admitted that ‘another player in certain positions would have helped’ as Liverpool endured their worst start to the season under the German manager.
Much has been made of Liverpool’s recent transfer activity, with fans questioning the ambitions of the club’s owners due to a lack of investment.
Klopp’s side have been plagued by injuries this season, with long-term injuries to Diego Jota, Luis Diaz and Andrew Robertson.
Liverpool are currently ninth in the Premier League, having won just four of their opening 12.
“I’m not a big believer in looking back, saying ‘if we had, it would have changed everything’,” Klopp told Sky Sports.
“I think it’s clear that another player in certain positions would certainly have helped us at times. But our problems are not because we miss a player.
“You can’t prepare for everything. While it’s wild and irrational at times, I think we’ve got to get through it. We’ll get through it.”
Liverpool travel to London to take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, with both sides looking for a crucial win to keep their UEFA Champions League qualification hopes alive for next season.
