Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has joined Zenit St Petersburg on a 3-year deal

Dejan Lovren has completed his move from Liverpool to Russian club Zenit St Petersburg, ending a six-year spell at Anfield that ended with the Premier League title this season.

Lovren was a £20m signing from Southampton in the summer of 2014 after just seasons with the Saints and Liverpool is now believed to have been sold for around £11m.

Lovren has signed a three-year deal with Zenit, who were recently crowned Russian Premier League champions for the sixth time overall, having retained the title they won in 2018/19.

The 31-year-old Croatian made 185 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, although he became a bit of a part-time player after 2018 due to injuries, as well as emerging as a long-term defensive partner with Joe Gomez. came out Van Dijk

A statement from the Reds read: “Everyone at Liverpool Football Club would like to thank Dejan for his contribution and wish him well in his new challenge.”

Zenit secured automatic passage to next season’s Champions League group stage thanks to their title win and Lovren joins a squad that includes former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, Iranian forward Sardar Azmoun and South American Multiple talents are involved.
