Manchester United have confirmed they will not appeal the decision to send Casemiro off for Sunday’s draw with Southampton.
The defensive midfielder received a straight red for his high challenge on Southampton’s Carlos Alcaraz in the first half of the 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.
It was Casemiro’s second straight red card in the last three Premier League games for Manchester United, who were also given their marching orders in February’s win over Crystal Palace. The Brazilian now faces a four domestic game ban due to the accumulation of red cards.
Despite the lengthy ban, United confirmed on their official website that they do not intend to appeal Anthony Taylor’s decision to offload Casemiro.
