Manchester United have begun working on a deal to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV in January.
Sources have indicated to 90 Minutes that United’s hierarchy have greenlit the decision to make a move for the Dutch international in line with manager Erik ten Hag’s wishes, with interest in the player who left ten Hag old last summer. Arrived at Trafford.
The 23-year-old scored nine goals and provided 12 assists in 14 Eredivisie games ahead of the World Cup, with Gakpo potentially worth more now than at the start of the season.

Gakpo himself insists he will not be rushed into a deal, but a move to United is believed to have long been his target. Leeds and Southampton have also shown interest in the Premier League but are understood to be out of the race.
Despite United being in pole position, others have expressed an interest in Gakpo – with Newcastle United and Arsenal having been actively interested in the player for months. Even Real Madrid scouts have given a positive report about him.
