Manchester United have completed the signing of Facundo Pellistri.

Manchester United have signed Uruguayan youngster Facundo Pelestri from Club Atlético Pinarul on a five-year deal with the option of an additional season.

The 18-year-old is the club’s second Uruguayan signing on deadline day, having wrapped up Edinson Cavani’s free transfer just hours earlier.

Speaking to the club’s website, Pelestri said: “It is a dream come true to join a club with the history of Manchester United. I have learned a lot at Penarol and I would like to thank them for everything they have done for me. It is an amazing feeling to have the manager’s trust and I know that working with him will be great for my development.

“I’m coming into a squad full of great players who I’ll learn from every day. Everyone knows that Manchester United is a club that gives opportunities to young players and I am ready to work hard every day to take those opportunities and prove myself in England.

Solskjaer added: “Our scouts have followed Facundo for a long time and we believe he will be a real talent long-term. Although we understand he will need time to adapt to the English game, But he has the ability to make an impact with his speed and ability to beat his opponent.
