Wolves have already secured new deals for top scorer Raul Jimenez and club captain Conor Cody, as well as manager Nuno Espirito Santo, and wanted Trevor to lead the deal.
90 Minutes understands that a deal has been agreed on a new contract with the 24-year-old Spain international, with only matters to be settled with his agent. Wolves had no major concerns about the deal, but it has become a source of frustration that has not been signed.
There is now resentment in Mullenix, including Nuno, who believes that Trevor should have signed the contract by now. As it stands, the situation has dragged on.
With 18 combined goals and assists last season, Trevor is yet to surpass that mark in 2020/21 and has not started a Premier League game since September.

He has only appeared as a substitute in each of Wolves’ last five fixtures. But while it is unclear why he has been consistently left out of the starting XI in recent weeks, sources believe his stance on a new contract has played at least some part.
Despite selling Diego Jota to Liverpool in a £45m deal in September, Wolves boss Nuno preferred to start with Daniel Pudenis and Pedro Neto in support of Jimenez instead.
