Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a move to take Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Molineux in January, 90min understands.
The 25-year-old is set to leave Old Trafford in the New Year, as revealed by 90 Minutes earlier this month, following a spell under new United manager Erik ten Hag. The right-back has managed just one short substitute appearance for United so far this season.
United have now made it clear to Wan-Bissaka that he can find a new club, and have attracted interest from home and abroad.
Former club Crystal Palace are among the clubs to have spoken to United, while the likes of West Ham and Leeds have also shown an interest. However, sources have now confirmed for 90 minutes that wolves are leading the chase.
The former England Under-21 star has two years left on his contract following his £50m move to United in 2019. He was brought to the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United are ready to let Wan-Bissaka leave on loan for a permanent deal, and new Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui has made a new right-back one of his priorities since taking charge. Wolves are looking to provide genuine competition for Nelson Semedo, and are also looking at options abroad.
Wolves are tracking Real Valladolid’s highly-rated youngster Ivan Fresneda – but a deal for Van Busaka now looks the more likely scenario.
United boss Ten Hague is happy to approve Van Busaka’s exit as he hopes to bring in a new right-back during the January window.
