Wout Weghorst to undergo Man Utd medical

Besiktas have allowed Wout Weghorst to travel to England to finalize a move to Manchester United, sources have told 90min.

The Red Devils recently identified the Netherlands target man as a short-term solution to their striker woes and agreed to take him on loan from parent club Burnley to Besiktas.

And Wieghurst’s new loan could be confirmed soon as 90 Minutes understands he is due to undergo a medical with United.

While the deal is now moving smoothly, United were initially unhappy that they would have to wait for Besiktas to replace Wieghorst, although they understood their position.

But the Turkish giants have now agreed to let Wieghorst leave before a replacement is signed on the dotted line. Al Nasser’s Vincent Abou Bakr has been heavily linked with a return to Besiktas in recent times.

United are now working out the final details of the deal, and want to confirm Weghorst’s arrival by the end of the week. The contract will not include an option to buy.

Wieghorst will join an English club for the second consecutive year after first signing for Burnley from Wolfsburg at the start of 2022.

While he scored just twice in 20 games as the Clarets suffered relegation from the Premier League, he did particularly well in the 1–1 draw against United at Turf Moor at the start of his time in England. Performed.
